Simple Algebra Help: 25z^3/30z^7 i mean like do u first simplify 25/30 to 5/6 and then just subtract 3-7 to get -4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Pretty close yeah. 25/30 equals 5/6 and z^3/z^7 equals 1/z^4 so all together its: \[5/6z^4\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no but isnt 3-7=-4?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3-7 is -4 but you can think about it more like canceling. theres 3 z's on top and 7 on the bottom so the 4 left over are on the bottom.
