What are the two rules for deciding the number of significant digits in the answer to a calculation?

for multipications or divisions, the number of sig. dig. is the same as the number (that you are provided with) with the least number of sig. dig. for adding or subtracting, the number of sig. dig. depends on the given number with the least decimal places.
