The figure shows the graphs of f, f ', and f ''. Identify each curve.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

as derivatives go up; curves get less curvy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (amistre64):

f is curvyest f' less curvy then f f'' = least curvy of the all the porridge is too hot .. this is too cold, and this one smells like bear dung

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I tried C for f, B for f', and C for f", but it was wrong :/

OpenStudy (amistre64):

well, you cant use C twice

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry i meant a for f"

OpenStudy (amistre64):

yeah, these dont seem to be nice and polynomial like ...

OpenStudy (amistre64):

each derivative tells you about the slope at the point of the one before it

OpenStudy (amistre64):

a would indicate a negative slope on the left of one of the others; and they aint got no negative slope there so id assume a is the f

OpenStudy (amistre64):

and it changes to negative about the time b goes under the x; so id say b is f'

OpenStudy (amistre64):

that leaves c for f''

OpenStudy (amistre64):

try a b c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh i see what how you look at the slopes now. That was right. Thanks!

OpenStudy (amistre64):

trying to work of memory aids will work most of the time and then mess you up for the other :)
