Fiction is prepared, like novels and books. They're always told in writing. Storytelling isn't well prepared, and is usually communicated by being spoken.

Hmm and I'm betting storytelling doesn't always have to be fictitious, someone could be recounting an 'adventure' and bending the truth a little.
