(y+9)(y+3)=0 ===> y=-9 , or y=-3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since the last number in the equation is positive that means that both sets of parenthisis will be as well. (y+3)(y+9) Look at the factors of 27 and figure out which ones add up to give you 12
