Finding GCF of any two numbers what happens when one of them is positive and one of them is negative? when both of them are negative? i need to know cause I am developing a program so yh

OpenStudy (anonymous):

plese give an example

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-6 and -12 -6 and 12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it shouldnt have to matter if it is negative or not

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so if it's -6 and -12 highest gcf can be obtained by -6*1, -6*2 highest gcf can be obtained by 6*-1, 6*-2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the GCF will be... -6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so if it's -6 and 12 highest gcf can 6*-1, 6*2 so thats only one case

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so now i need to know case for double negatives

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it can be either 6 and -6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

umm so my reasoning is right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats ryt absolutely
