the lengths of the sides of a 6-sided polygon are in arithmetic sequence. the length of the shortest side is 3 meters/if thelength of the next longer side is 5 meteres, what is the length of the longest side?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sides are 3, 3+x, 3+2x, 3+3x....3+5x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3+x=5 => x=2..so longest side should be 3+5(2)=13

Whoops...guess I should have been paying more attention to the directions. I assumed incorrectly that it was looking for the next longest side. :/
