Hi there, I'm looking for an interactive tool that will enable MOOCers to create their own certificate of completion. What tools could I use?
I simply used a shared google spreadsheet called goals and evidence log. Since a MOOC is voluntary and the completion requirements are dependent on the individual participant, it only makes sense that each participant make their own goals and then track how well those goals are being met. In the event they want to earn some sort of district pd clock hours for participation, I would suggest running the goals and accepted evidence by the district pd coordinator before starting.
OpenStudy has the tools to track engagement and participation at a fine level. Talk to Chris the CEO, chris.sprague@openstudy.com.
Are we talking a "certificate" or a record of apparent online participation for an eportfolio?
wow thanks for your considered responses, only just remembering to go back here and look. apologies for not replying sooner. the moocers did not get any certification as it turns out and it was not missed as they each got from the experience what they required. For the next mooc I design I would see value in providing a "certificate" or a record of apparent online participation for an eportfolio?
