What do you mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

find the area of the region that lies inside both curves r=1+cost and r=1-cost

OpenStudy (anonymous):

where r is the y axis and cost is the x axis and cost ranges from -INFINITY to +INFINITY ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is the region supposed to be bounded by the x-axis (the cost-axis) as well? Because otherwise the area is infinitely large.
