java= core language
java script= a derived language made for html programmers who cannot understand core java.. its much easier than java and used document object model

Who told you they cant understand it?

Javascrit was made for handling dom modifications etc..Using core java would have made pages very heavy and slower...

on word , NOTHING , java and java script have nothing in common but they both are written in C , java script is a client side language, which you use for your website , like user input checking and many other interactive features which you can see in many (maybe i should say ALL ) websites these days , but you can't write an application with it, on the other hand java is a complete language which you can do every thing with it, but if you write a web application in java you should use javaFX which is another client side script designed for java programmers for interactivity in your page and that's not good Idea because users should install javaFx on their computer , think about it just like adobe flash !! do you get it? , Nothing is perfect don't learn languages and don't rely on them learn how to think and you can do anything with everything ;)))
