For future reference on linking and action verbs: Action verbs describe the action only. Linking verbs connect the noun in the sentence and further information about them; such as the time it happens, where it happens, or the cause of it happening.
1.) "Be" is the linking verb.
2.) "Became" is the linking verb.
3.) "Helps" is the action verb.
4.) "Aware" is the linking verb.
