well i finally finished part 3 of PS3 (parsing strings isn't exactly interesting to me so motivating myself to complete it has been difficult lol) and i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or comments. countSubStringMatchRecursive doesn't seem to return anything

You are correct, and I guess I need to go rewrite that function. The problem is that I do half of my programming at work on breaks on my work computer, and the other half at home on my laptop. So I must not have gotten the right "version" of that function. Thank you for letting me know! The code for part 3 works though, right? lol

Now the recursive function is working! I did forget to change my old version of the code so that was the issue. As always, thanks for the help bwCA!
