To look at cell structure, we use special dyes eg. ? to stain the cell contents including the cells ? this makes them visible when examined using a microscope. can anyone help with question marks for sons homework.
Hey are you asking if that's correct? Or how your sons homework will be marked? Anyway, yes we use dyes, that usually change colour when they come in contact with specific molecules. Though I'm not too sure of the specifics.
I only need to fill in where the question marks are, giving an example of special dye used to stain the cell contents
iodine solution? and i think it can stain chloroplasts I'm not quite sure but i am sure about iodine because we used that in my lesson:)
Okey doke :) well this website has a good list of cell stains: http://serc.carleton.edu/microbelife/research_methods/microscopy/index.html This one is pretty common to be used when you're learning about stains: Iodine - used as a starch indicator. When in solution, starch and iodine turn a dark blue color.
thank you very much, grateful for your time.
Not a problem :)
