OpenStudy (nainai100):

can i get help with a math problem ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

maybe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a car travelling at 7.0m/s accelerates uniforly at 2.5m/s² to reach a speed of 12.0m/s. how long does it take for this acceleration to occur?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*uniformly

OpenStudy (nainai100):

\[\chi2+5xy+4y2\]

OpenStudy (nainai100):

those #2 are post to be the power can anyone help me ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\Delta V=a \Delta t\] therefore \[12.5-7=2.5 \Delta t\] therefore \[\Delta t= 2.2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ty

OpenStudy (nainai100):

none of those answers are on my paper i think its done a different way

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the question?

OpenStudy (nainai100):

that math problem up top

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you want to do with it? simplify?, complete the square ?, solve? ..etc?

OpenStudy (nainai100):

welp it say to factor each trinomial

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first look at the factors of each of the coefficients. In this case for x it is 1 and 1, and for y it is (4 and 1)or (2 and 2) now you need determine what combination of factors corresponds to the middle term, to do this, look the sign of the middle and the last term, since they are both positive, you know that the factors must add to form the middle term. looking at the factors, you can see that you need to att 4x1 +1x1 to equal 5, therefore the factorisation will be \[(x+1y)(x+4y)\] I hope this helps

OpenStudy (nainai100):

thank you thats what i had got to. it gives you the answers on the bottom and i did not see that one. so it must be this answer (x + y) (x+ 4y) ;) *the invisible 1 ahh
