what is the slope of the line for this equation? y=1/3x-4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this equation is in a slope intercept form (y=mx+b) where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept. to find the so m in the equation is the slope which is 1/3 the slope of the equation is 1/3

Are you sure if it's the equation of a line, because the linear expression in x is in denominator. So i guess we'll have to cross multiply the terms and find dy/dx.
