ona map ,the distance from A to C is 8 and the distance from C to B is #. if B lies between A and C along a straight line, what is the distance from B to A on the map?

Distance from A to C equals distance from A to B plus distance from B to C. So 8=#+d(B,A) which gives you 8-#
