addition when you assume those so like f(x) +g(x) you assume the same terms subtraction like f(x)-g(x) - when you need subtracting the same terms multiplication f(x)*g(x) - when multiplie every terms with every terms dividation f(x)/g(x) - when you need dividing f(x) with g(x) - check how you divide two functions
