What format do you need the video in? There is a tab at the bottom of the screen that says "About this Video", "Video Index" .. "Download this Video".

http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/physics/8-01-physics-i-classical-mechanics-fall-1999/video-lectures/lecture-32/ Look on the bottom of the screen, there is a tab that says "Download Video" and you can download MP4s, which I'm sure VLC has compatibility with.
