how did a 16 turn into a 2?

OpenStudy (mimi_x3):

well, when you times 8 and 2x it tuns to 16 xD ,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

8 x^2-16 x+8 = 0 Factor the left hand side: (x-1)^2 = 0 Take the square root of both sides: x-1 = 0 Add 1 to both sides: x = 1
