how do I calculate the percentage of a ratio

For a ratio
\[\frac{a}{b}\]

simply multiply by 100.

for example, to convert \[\frac{2}{5}\]to a percentage, I multiply by 100 to get\[\frac{200}{5} = 40\%\]
