Does anyone know the formula to convert miles into light years

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You know light travels 186,000 miles per second. You also know that there are 60x60x24x365.25 = 31557600 seconds per year. So if you multiply 186,000 by 31557600 you will find the number of miles light will travel in a year. By definition, one light year is the distance light travels in one year, and so the above conversion factor will transform light years into miles. Therefore there are 58,69,713,600,000 miles in a light year. This then converts light years to miles. To convert miles to light years, you have to divide the number of miles by 58,69,713,600,000. Hence one mile equals 1/58,69,713,600,000 light years.
