wich of the following is not a right triangle congruency? hl, ll, la, aa

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I couldn't figure out the given data.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont get it either

OpenStudy (phi):

h probably stands for hypotenuse l for leg a for angle (other than the 90 degree right angle) Does this help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i understand what your saying i just dont get all of the other acronyms

OpenStudy (phi):

Congruent triangles: SSS (3 sides of triangle A equal to 3 sides of triangle B) SAS ( side-angle-side) ASA (angle side angle) so for example, give h and l of a right triangle, we can find the other side (Pythagoras) so h,l is equivalent to SSS. Hence congruent one of the combinations does not define congruence

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ll gives you SAS and la gives you ASA. aa gives you AAA, which is not enough for congruence (proves similarity, tho).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks guys, i figured it out with the information you gave me
