OpenStudy (riley):

Find the derivative of the function. f(x) = 9x^0.5 + 7x^−0.5 Need some help please . . . the decimal powers are tripping me up. >_<

OpenStudy (riley):

I still use the formula: f'(x) = lim f(x+h) - f(x)/h right? h->0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0.5*9*x^(-0.5) +(-0.5*7 *x^(-1.5))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4.5 x^(-0.5) -3.5x^(-1.5)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use the power rule

OpenStudy (riley):

oh I see what you did, you dropped the powers . . . I forgot to do that O.O

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (riley):
