what is the most dangerous microbe?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Maybe streptococccal infection (flesh-eating bacteria). Not sure how to rank bacteria from bad to worse

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The most, or one of the most dangerous bacteria is clostridium botulinum, its an anaerobe bacteria, but it produces 7types of neurotoxins and you dont have to be infected per se to be attacked by the toxins, one of these toxins is used in the botox injection paralysing you muscles near by the site of the inyection. Thats only bacteria, but for my knowlegde as a medschool student, rabies its the most importan virus and dangerous, and its one of the only deseases that has 100% of mortality

It's really a matter of opinion. What do you think would be the most painful? Flesh eating bacteria sounds pretty bad to me :-) In terms of history, I think the bubonic plague, Typhoid and Typhus have been the worst epidemics. Here's a website you can look at for more information, but be careful because not all of these are bacterial (Malaria is a protozoan infection and most of the others are viral.) http://www.epicdisasters.com/index.php/site/comments/the_worst_outbreaks_of_disease/
