Can someone summarize lysosomes do? im still confused

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A lysosome is like a bubble full of digestive enzymes. It pinches off of the Golgi body and can surround things to break them down. "Lyse" means break so that might help you remember. Lysosomes can also meld with the cell membrane so that their contents leave the cell, in a process called exocytosis.
