i want to buy a shirt at the mall that costs $97 , but I don't have money,so I borrowed $50 from my mom and dad to have a total of $100. Then I bought the the shirt with the $100, then i got a change of $3 I gave my mom and dad $1 each, So my debt is now only 49+49=98, and i have a $1 if you add it is $99 where is now the $1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You shouldn't add the $1, since it's money you have. the $98 is money you owe. The total will be \(\pm\)$97, depending on which you take as positive/negative.
