Factor the given expressions. I would like to know how to do this one. x^2 - 7x + 12

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

x^2-7x+12 x^2-3x-4x+12 (x^2-3x)+(-4x+12) x(x-3)+(-4x+12) x(x-3)-4(x-3) (x-4)(x-3)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Note: you need to find two numbers that multiply to 12 and add to -7. These two numbers are -3 and -4

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

So you break -7x into -3x-4x and you factor by grouping
