if a food particle is a carbohydrate, what will the end product of digestion be?

carbohydrates --> monosaccharides (mainly glucose) and dextrins

OpenStudy (anonymous):

carbohydrates are all eventually broken down into the simple form of sugar, being glucose which is then broken down through glycolysis into pyruvate. This molecule then enters the electron transport chain in the mitochondria to eventually be converted into ATP (energy) :)
