A disc jockey must play 16 commercial spots during one hour of a radio show. Each commercial is either 30 seconds or 60 seconds long. If the total commercial time during one hour is 13 minutes, how many 30 second commercials were played and how many 60 second commercials were played that hour?

.5x+y=13 x+y=16

OpenStudy (zarkon):

x=6,y=10

OpenStudy (zarkon):

so 6 - 30 sec and 10 - 60 sec commercials
