can anyone please explain why every polynomial is also a rational expression?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Any rational expression is of the form \[\Large \frac{f(x)}{g(x)}\] (where f and g are both polynomial functions) If f(x) is a polynomial and g(x) = 1, then \[\Large \frac{f(x)}{1}\] is also a rational expression

Oh now I get it, thanks.
