im not understanding

OpenStudy (amistre64):

how many cards are in a deck?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

54

OpenStudy (amistre64):

... count again, how many cards are in a deck :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

52

OpenStudy (amistre64):

good, and how many of them are a 5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0

OpenStudy (amistre64):

there are zero 5s in a deck of cards ...... really?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In a deck, there are 52 cards, there are 8 cards of 5 and another 8 cards of 7. Hence, we can conclude that the probability is 16/52. SImplifying the fraction, it's a 4/13.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

there are 8 5s in a deck of cards? i think your brain is working about as good as mine today ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry. :P 4 5s and 4 7s in a deck. What am I doing? (And I don't really play cards actually. Honestly.) So it's 8/52. Then 2/13
