OpenStudy (amistre64):

Bob and Larry are racing: Bob is moving at 4mph and starts at mile marker 5 and has to make it to mile marker 23. Larry is moving at 10mph and starts at mile marker 30 and has to make it to mile marker 74. Who gets to their goal first?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

larry

OpenStudy (amistre64):

can you prove that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

should I ? then please help me with my question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Larry moves at 10mph, and his distance is 44 miles, which means he takes around 4.4 hours finishing the race. Bob moves at 4mph, his distance is 18 miles, which means he took 4.5 hours. Well isn't the answer clear?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

hmmm .... i thought i set it up for bob to win :) but yes, Larry wins

OpenStudy (amistre64):

and vicky, if you are going to answer questions, then you should be able to prove your results ... yes

OpenStudy (amistre64):

do you have to prove them? Nah ... buts its nice to be able to back it up :)
