What is the integral of csc^4(x) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-1/3cot(x)(csc^2(x) + 2) + C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you show me the steps you used?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can plug it into a formula also.. but can anyone show me the steps using trig identity and such please??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I used the reduction formula for csc and from there it's easy. Here's a similar question to yours that shows the steps: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20081220102005AADrmRb

Ya, I'm not supposed to use the reduction formula at this point. I think I just figured it out on my own in the way that example you linked to does. Thanks for the help though!
