What did the Colonies lose during the French and Indian War?

The colonies didn't lose anything. The English and French were fighting over the Ohio Valley (which was in Pennsylvania), and the English made Quebec fall which led to the defeat of the French and they gained the land.

The colonies were attempting to gain Ohio territory in order to connect the land they owned in Canada to the Mississippi Valley. George Washington had to surrender, so the land was lost and the French gained it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The French colonies lost most of their foothold in the New World. The British colonies gained quite a few provinces. The Spanish gained much of what was to become the Louisiana Purchase.
