in plant cell why cell division occur by cell palate?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is due to the fact that plants do not have centrioles, but instead they have centrosomes. All the processes that go on during cell division are the same between plant and animals cells up until cytokinesis, when the plant cell divides the cytoplasm and forms a new "plate" (cell wall) between the two new nuclei.
