Fun Fact #41: Meet Zingiber spectabile , a very cool looking plant. It has these rather large inflorescences that look like honey-comb especially as they are yellow coloured (that slowly turn red!). The little 'cups' of the inflorescence hold water (take a look at the picture!). It's from the same genus as ginger and the water collected in these cups carry the very same ginger smell.

This one was remarkably hard to research but a good source was this site: http://palmvrienden.net/junglegarden/hardy/zingiber-spectabile/ And have a look at this really cool owl video: http://www.youtube.com/v/37MNE8tOBG4%26hl%3den%26fs%3d1%26autoplay%3d1

where do we can find this plant??

OpenStudy (trancenova):

I'm having trouble finding where it is from beyond 'tropical' places. Though it seems you can buy it in many places. Your best bet will bet will be to find the links and see what you can find :)

oh i see..thanks for your info

OpenStudy (trancenova):

No worries, wish I could give you more info.
