What is a possible first step in eliminating a variable in the following system of equations? 4x + 5y = –23 3x + 10y = –14

multiply the top eqn. by -2

OpenStudy (turingtest):

then add the equations together eliminating the y's and solve for x

Or multiply the top equation by 3 and the bottomr equation by -4.
