Can anyone help. State the distance interpretation of the inequality in words, (b) Find all solutions for the equation (or inequality).abvalx+4>1

A) What are all of the numbers a distance of one away from -4. B) To solve an absolute value inequality like this one, split it up according to the definition of absolute value. Either (x+4)>1 or -(x+4)>1 The first yields x>-3; the second yields x<-5. Thus you get a disjunction: x<-5 or x>-3, which would look like: |dw:1317101540338:dw| or, in Interval notation, (-infinity,-5)U(-3,infinity).
