I know simple programming and am comfortable with visual basic , c++,html.Should i learn java next or python or perl?

OpenStudy (carlsmith):

I'd go with Python personally, but Java is a good career move. What are you hoping to gain from it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey Python is also a career move but since you already know c++ then i think you should start working on some big projects .

OpenStudy (carlsmith):

Sorry jaskaran, you're right, Python is good for getting work, and it seems to be getting better over time, I just thought, with a background in C++, learning Java might be the easiest way to get paid.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It depends on your objectives. - If you'd like to get into some backend/server side job, then opt for Python (or Perl). - If you'd like to write web centric or enterprise apps on the client side, go for Java. Remember, Transition from C++ to Java is much simpler due to nearly same syntax Python is a entirely a new syntax and programming paradigm for you.
