Use a straightedge and a compass to construct a triangle with 2 sides having the same length. Describe the process you used. Now use a protractor to measure each angle of the triangle. What are the measures of each angle? )

Step1: Use straightedge to draw a line say 20cm. name it AB. Step2: Open compass 15cm (more than half of AB) and put it on pointA and draw a light arc on both sides of line AB Step3: Repeat the same step with same compass opening (15 cm) from point B Step4: Name the two intersecting points as O1 and O2. Step5: Join O1 and O2. and name the intersection of O1O2 and AB as C Step6: Open compass 10cm(half of 20) and put it on C and mark a point on O1O2 towards O1 (or O2). name that mark as D. Step7: Join AD. So your final triangle is ACD. AC = CD = 10 cm. Angle DAC = Angle CDA = 45 Measure that with protractor.
