is kirchoff's law applicable for ac circuits??my sir says yes, but how???

OpenStudy (turingtest):

Just think about each pulse in an ac circuit. Like a flow of water it too has to split and recombine between "pipes". Think of each individual pulse of current in an ac as dc just for that instant and it should be apparent that it will obey Kirchoff's law. The only difference is that in ac the current will rapidly reverse, but again while traveling in this alternate direction it too can be treated as dc for that instant, and therefore obeys Kirchoff's law.
