3x+2/3=5/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3x = 5/2 - 2/3 = 11/6 x = 11/6 / 3 = 11/18

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Multiply both sides by 2*3 to get rid of fractions: \[6*3x+6*2/3=6*5/2\] \[18x + 4 = 15\] \[18x = 11, x =11/18\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3x + 4/6 = 15/6 since you need common denominators. 3x = 11/6 x= (11/6)/3= 11/18
