how do i get 6 1/4 from 8 -1 3/4=

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did i mention i HATE fractions???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hahaha i feel you xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, you know that if the top number and bottom number is the same means that number is 1.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so if you put 8 as 7 4/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then you can subtract 7 - 1 and the 4/4 - 3/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

meaning the whole number becomes 6, and the fraction part is 1/4, so 6 1/4 :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think i know what ur saying?!?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

want me to draw it for you? :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or do you get it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not sure thats the first time ive heard it like that but it makes sense
