mn^2-49

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you required to solve, for what m or n..extra info would be nice

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@sake30 - in order to avoid problems it would be better if you wrote the first term as (mn)^2 if thats what its supposed to be. As it is it looks like m times n^2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(mn-9)(mn+9)??? should be (mn-7)(mn+7)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's how it was given , it says to factor each trinomial.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so u should have written factorize mn^2-49

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what 's the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(mn-7)(mn+7)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(mn)^2 ?, so both m and n are squared

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but the question is ambiguous mn^2 could also mean m times n^2 it was best written as (mn)^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u r right but we know it shud be that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you guys for your help.
