If Bob and Larry are racing; and Bob needs to make it to the 32 mile marker, while Larry needs to make it to the 75 mile marker. When Bob is at the 18 mile marker he is at his top speed of 10 mph. At the same time, Larry is at the 40 mile marker with his of 14 mph. Who is closer to their goal and will win the race?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

closer to their goal of winning the race ....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Larry: (70 - 35) / 14 = 2.5 hours to go Bob: (32 - 18) / 10 = 1.4 hours to go Bob's handicap is paying off. Bob is closer to winning!

OpenStudy (amistre64):
