True or False : If a hockey puck slides on a perfectly frictionless surface, it will eventually slow down because of inertia.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It will eventually slow down due to air resistance. Assuming there is none of that and that the frictionless ice is perfectly level and infinite, it will never slow down and never stop.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Inertia will not slow it down, but air resistance or another force may. Assuming no other forces slow it down, inertia will not slow it - meaning it travels on forever.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

False. Only a force opposing its motion will slow it down. Inertia is not a force.
