OpenStudy (dcolley):

Solve the polynomial inequality.Express the solution set interval notation. 5x^2+17x<12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would move 12 to the left side, resulting in 5x^2 + 17x - 12 < 0 And use the quadratic equation to solve. Try that

OpenStudy (dcolley):

what about factoring?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Factoring would be best, however, I don't know of any combination of numbers where you can get (5x^2) and get (sum of 2 factors = 17) and (product of 2 factors = -12) Of course, I am not perfect. There could be some way to get it.

OpenStudy (dcolley):

There is (5x-3)(x+4)
