what is the equation for a function that has a graph with the shape of y=|x| but stretched horizontally by a factor of 2 and shifted down 5 units?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=|x+2|-5

OpenStudy (mef4.0):

use a graphing calculator - the x+2 inside the abs val is gonna shift it left, not down. play around with the graphing calculator until you get the stretch and shift you are looking for.

You're right. It's y=|2x|-5. My bad.

thats what i put first but i thought it was wrong! thanks
