I had my first math test today and I was pretty confident. But oncI started the test my mind went completely blank, what can I do to stop this happening again???

Practice. Sometimes the best way to study is to do it without having to think.

dont croos while u r writing
take time to practice

Do the harder problems, maybe the extra-credit ones or the ones that just seem to by trying to throw you off for practice. If you can handle the harder problems in your book chances are the test problems will seem pretty easy. And yes, of course, practice in your head on the way to class.
