Calculate the ROC, dA/dD, where A is the surface area of a sphere of diameter D (the surface area of a sphere of radius r is 4(pi)(r^2 ).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and ROC stands for rate of change

OpenStudy (stormfire1):

\[dA/dD(4pir^2) = 8pir\]

I got the same answer but the the website I am on won't accept it. Possibly in terms of D? In which case it would be 4piD?

OpenStudy (stormfire1):

I'm not sure why it won't accept it...that's definitely the ROC

OpenStudy (stormfire1):

maybe it will take 8pi(d/2)? Just reaching here...

No luck. I'll email my professor. Thanks though.
